This 8400 square foot facility is the premiere indoor play area in Nassau County!  Offering fun for kids from ages 1-12, Active Kidz Long Island is a perfect spot for open play, birthday parties other get-togethers!  Trained coaches work under owners Lise and Andy Oelbaum to ensure that each child has a fun, safe and exhilarating experience.  Active Kidz offers a huge gymnasium with tons of sports equipment, classes and activities.  They also have a rock climbing room with three walls for traverse and belay rock climbing.  There is also a toddler area with soft play equipment.  Our favorite has to be the 3-level maze with tunnels, slides, web climbs and cool obstacles.  They are open 7 days a week.

Bouncers & Slydos is an 11,000 square foot facility devoted to indoor inflatables!  They have the newest and truly unique inflatable rides that will help your toddler learn to jump, balance, slide and recognize colors.  Bouncers & Slydos will enhance your toddler’s motor skills, allow him/her to socialize in a fun and exciting environment.  In addition to all the cool inflatables, they also offer “airbots” (inflatable suits) for children to wear and have a great time wrestling with each other.  The clean, friendly surroundings are climate controlled and was custom-built for Bouncers & Slydos.  They offer daily Toddler Time from 10am-2pm for very reasonable prices.  They are also a great place to have your next children’s party!  They offer a drop-off Nightcamp program every Friday and Saturday from 7:30pm-1am that includes free play, dinner and a movie shown on a giant, inflatable screen.  All Bouncers & Slydos counselors are specially traines and are CPR certified.

Old Westbury Gardens, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the former home of John S. Phipps, his wife, Margarita Grace Phipps and their four children. Completed in 1906 by the English designer George A. Crawley, the magnificent Charles II-style mansion is nestled amid 160 acres of formal gardens, landscaped grounds, woodlands, ponds and lakes. The Children’s Safari is an indoor play area that features slides, mazes, tunnels, rock-climbing walls and a sand-pit with a separate “soft playground” for toddlers.  The programs they offer have an animal theme and the classes are structured for children from 10 months- 3 ½ years old (10-18 months are “Frogs and Tadpoles“; 12-30 months are “Kangaroos & Joeys“; 2 ½-3 ½ years are “Little Explorers“.  Classes focus on features such as music, rock-climbing, and open play.  They also have special events like puppet shows, clowns, concerts live animals, magic shows, Kids Bingo, etc.  If you can’t commit to a class, they are also open Monday-Friday for open play.  The weekends are reserved for private parties.

Way Off Broadway has over 18 years of unique theater training for kids pre-k through grade 12! Way Off Broadway offers classes in acting, singing and movement; they participate in the creation of plays, songs and choreography that they later perform. Enrollment is now open for ongoing classes in Acting with Theater Skills and Musical Comedy, as well as for a fall middle school and high school Scene Study course and a winter Audition/Monologue course.  Classes meet once a week, with a family day in December and end-of-year performances in May. Each season, Way Off Broadway also offers a commercial acting workshop in a fully equipped Manhattan studio. In addition, Sound Studio Day is one of the more popular workshops because students get to make a funny fake commercial CD. Way Off Broadway has many young actors on Broadway, in television, and in feature films.

Great chain of small, specialty toy stores in Long Island.  Very boutique-y feel.  Gives you that old-fashioned toy store sensibility that is missing from the big box stores.  Toys begin to feel magical again in their stores as opposed to mass produced.  Fun to just even go in and just look on a rainy day!
